Employment
While we enjoy a very high return rate of our staff, we are always looking for special individuals that possess the desire to impact a child’s life in a positive way. Some of the qualities we look for in our staff are: patience, kindness, flexibility and cooperation. If you want to gain leadership skills, work outdoors, make lifelong friendships and create memories for children as well as yourself, consider being a Brookhaven counselor.
Being a camp counselor is an amazing experience and much more than just playing games with children. In addition to assisting campers in various sports and crafts, being a Brookhaven camp counselor involves counseling, behavior management, problem solving, peer mediation, building social skills and building self-esteem.
Not only is working at camp a rewarding summer job that will help you grow as a person, it is also a great addition to your resume.
The most important aspect of being a camp counselor at Brookhaven is being a positive role model whose first priority is the emotional and physical safety of the campers, while at the same time providing them with supervision and guidance in a nurturing way. We believe that these qualities in our staff are essential for making our campers’ summers the most exciting and memorable.
Some of the positions available at camp are: Group Leaders, Counselors, Junior Counselors, Athletics, Arts and Performance, Water Safety Instructors, Lifeguards and Nurse.
